Shifting gears

I had written a couple of chapters and the characters were leading me in one direction. Then one morning I woke up and thought "I don't believe any of that!"

Back to the drawing board.

I think it's part of the process. I write organically. I don't plot out every movement and thought, but let the characters lead me. I think sometimes my brain moves things in a particular direction (which isn't a bad thing), but perhaps I've started to "create" the world rather than "watching" it.

So dropped a chapter, made some revisions and on we go... Almost completed the first draft of the novella.
