Space Vixens from Another Dimension (excerpt)
a penny dreadful by Michael Yoder

Launch day.
Harry and the team were all getting ready to enter the rocket. The team was comprised of Captain Harry Johnson; Harvey Shapiro, the Communications Officer; Gary Smith, the Computer Technician; and Jimmy Carter, who wore a red uniform and really didn't do anything memorable.
A voice announced over the intercommunications system:
"The Space Rocket will launch in one hour."
The door to the launch pad office opened and Sally ran to Harry, her heels clicking as she crossed the linoleum floor. She grabbed him tightly.
"Oh, Harry, Harry, Harry, Harry, Harry!!-"
Harry grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her soundly.
"Sally!" he said. "Pull yourself together! I know that women get hysterical, but you must remain calm!"
Sally turned her head. "Yes," she whimpered. "Yes, I know. But you see I had the most terrible dream last night. You - you were all killed!" She started weeping, because, of course, all women weep.
Incessantly.
"Oh, Darling!" Harry tried to comfort her. "That was just a dream. A silly old dream in that pretty little head of yours." He held her cheeks and gazed into her eyes. "You know we'll all be fine. The Space Program has taken every precaution."
Sally stopped crying. "I suppose you're right, Dearest. I'm just so concerned is all."
"Of course you're concerned," replied Harry. "All women get so emotional over these things. But you really have nothing to worry about. We'll be off to Venus and back in a week. Then we can have a real celebration! Tell you what, once I'm back we'll go that fancy Italian place for spaghetti and meatballs. Maybe even a bottle of wine! How does that sound?"
"Oh, Darling!" Sally said giving Harry a big hug. "That would be marvelous! I shall miss you so!"
"And I will miss you, Sally," Harry said. "Now give me a kiss before the blast-off."
They kissed (with closed lips of course).
